Kate Middleton looked right at home mingling with sovereign monarchs and heads of state during Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee lunch at Windsor Castle Friday.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 30, was joined by her husband, Prince William, 29, and brother-in-law, Prince Harry, 27; Middleton wore a $2,000 knee-length, rose pink coat dress by Emilia Wickstead.

While sipping on white wine, Middleton and her husband exchanged pleasantries with Prince Albert II, 54, and his wife, Princes Charlene of Monaco, 34. Like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Albert and Charlene tied the knot in 2011.

Queen Elizabeth II, 86, invited royals from 26 countries to partake in the celebration, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Queen of Denmark, the Emperor of Japan, the King of Jordan, the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, the King of Norway, the Crown Prince of Thailand and the King of Swaziland, among others; Queen Sofia of Spain declined to attend the lunch at the behest of her country’s government, reportedly due to Prince Edward’s upcoming visit to the British territory of Gibralter.

Guests at Friday’s lunch feasted on English asparagus tartlet, Windsor lamb and Kent strawberries with Vanilla Charlotte. Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will host a dinner for the visiting sovereigns at Buckingham Palace Friday evening.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have landed a prestigious invitation to join the Queen on the royal barge during the River Thames pageant this summer.

The event, which is being held as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, will see 1,000 ships, boats, yachts and other vessels on the River Thames, in an event which organisers hope will recreate scenes not witnessed for more than 300 years.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will join other royals including the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, aka the Prince of Wales, who is the pageant’s patron, his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry.

But all eyes will no doubt be on popular royals Kate and Wills, who manage to steal the limelight at every event they attend.

The couple, who married in a lavish ceremony last April, will be at Queen Elizabeth’s side throughout the event, which one million spectators are expected to attend.

The royal barge will be a sight to behold, boasting a lavish red velvet banner decorated with a version of the royal coat-of-arms made from more than half a million gold-coloured buttons. An ornate gilded sculpture featuring Old Father Thames, a pair of scaly sharp-toothed classical dolphins which is a symbol of the Thames, will sit at the front of the barge, and the royal cipher will be at the centre.

Other royals will travel on neighbouring vessels in the royal squadron towards the front of the flotilla. The Duke of York and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, will all travel on Havengore, the vessel which carried Sir Winston Churchill’s coffin during his state funeral in 1965.

The Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence will travel on the Trinity House No 1 Boat, and Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra will be aboard the RNLI Diamond Jubilee.

The River Thames pageant takes place on June 3 and will be just one of many events held to celebrate the Queen’s 60th year on the throne.

Other celebrations include the Diamond Jubilee Concert on June 4, with stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Kylie Minogue lined-up to perform for the Royal Family, as well as various local, national and international events.

“High-level glamour is becoming more of the norm for Kate due to her role,” her stylist pal Nikki Pennie, editor-at-large of StyleHaul, says in the new issue of PEOPLE. “She is becoming more playful, putting her hair in gorgeous updos to complement certain dresses. She is clearly enjoying the process and becoming more confident.”

She’s doing it single-handedly, too. Kate does her own makeup and doesn’t have an official stylist, according to palace sources. She also doesn’t accept free gifts from designers and chooses her outfits herself.

“She is becoming more and more confident, which I think is exciting to see,” says Stewart Parvin, a couturier to the Queen. “The way she does her hair, the way she does her makeup is getting better and better and she has this new inner glow.”

Kate Middleton has been charged with wearing a racy designer dress while stepping out with Prince William at private function in Mayfair.

Kate Middleton has become a large fashion icon across the world after her wedding to Prince William debuted on television. Since, she has made fashion decisions that are typically conservative: re-popularizing nylons making them relatively affordable to many, sometimes donning dresses from national retailers like Kara.

However, on Monday night, the Duchess drew attention wearing a high-necked Roland Mouret gown while attending a private event at the Clardige Hotel. High designer name aside, what surprised many was that the long white gown had a rather high slit, remnant of Anglie Jolie’s recent red carpet look.

“While it wasn’t exactly an Angelina Jolie leg flash, Kate Middleton showed some royal thigh last night when she stepped out with Prince William in London,” Yahoo News reported, adding that the gown showed a “daring amount of leg” and was “her raciest look since she came into the public eye.”

Other however insisted that the dress was not racy at all but actually very classy and well done.

The duchess paired that outfit with Jimmy Choo’s high heels. With heels that cost over a $1,000 a pair, some questioned how well that might be received by others, who were struggling to make ends meet.

“She’s a beautiful lady. With that said, with the condition of the economy in England, I don’t think the English people will appreciate her costly Jimmy Choos,” Usamade stated.

The couple attended the event in celebration of the Prince’s upcoming 30th Birthday, according to a royal aide.
